Obituary for Katherine Stys (Bienick)
New Hartford, NY - Katherine (Bienick) Stys, 93, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Presbyterian Home for CNY.
Born in Poland, NY, January 22, 1928, Katherine was a daughter of the late George and Valerie (Gil) Bienick. She was raised and educated in the Poland-Newport area, where she attended Poland Central High School. On October 25, 1958, in Holy Trinity Church, Katherine was wed to Edward W. Stys, with whom she shared a union of over 35 years, until his passing on November 19, 1993. At one time, Mrs. Stys held a position as an assembler, with Mele Manufacturing Company, in Utica.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger E. and Susan Stys, of North Utica; a granddaughter, Courtney Stys, and her companion, Mark Paciello, both of Utica; and a grandson, Eric Stys, and his companion, Delianne Narvaez, both of Las Vegas, NV. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, including her twin sister, Margaret Kupiec.
In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. The family will celebrate her life privately. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, NY.
