Obituary

Ilion, NY – Tammy Smith, age 61, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at her home.
Born in New Hartford, NY on December 17, 1958, Tammy was the daughter of the late Richard Monahan and Josephine Piccione Kennedy. Tammy was raised and educated in Utica, and attended Utica Free Academy.
She loved to work in her garden, and took much pride in making it beautiful. A selfless woman, she always made sure everyone around her was happy. Tammy loved to cook for her family, especially her grandchildren; their favorites were her goulash and pasta fagioli.
Tammy shared forty-nine years with the love of her life, Louis Turchetti, who passed away on the same day as Tammy.
Surviving are her beautiful twin daughters and their husbands, Shonda and Stephen Pfleuger, of Coldbrook and Rikki and Ralph Walker, of Frankfort; five precious grandchildren, Brittany Pfleuger, Mariah and Alex Amador, Stephen Pfleuger, Jr., Ralph K. Walker, IV and his fiancée, Rebecca, and Brandon Walker; two great grandchildren, who were the loves of her life, Colton and Carter Amador; an uncle, Rocco Piccione; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer Jewett, Mary Pelli-Maggio and her husband, Santo, Jody and Robert Martucci, and Theresa Taylor. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Joseph Turchetti, Anthony and Luanne Turchetti, and Robin Turchetti. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Sinclair and two brothers-in-law, Frank Jewett, and Michael Bush.
In keeping with Tammy and Louis’ wishes there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend their Mass of Resurrection, which will be held on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2020 at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, 648 Jay Street, Utica. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, NY.
