Obituary for Louis Turchetti

Ilion, NY – Louis Turchetti, age 63, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at his home.
Born in New Hartford, NY, on December 4, 1956, Louis was the son of the late Joseph and Roselyn (Quackenbush) Turchetti. Louis was raised and educated in Utica, and attended Utica Free Academy.
Lou loved his family, his twin girls were the greatest accomplishment of his life. He spent the last forty-nine years with his childhood love, Tammy Smith, who passed away on the same day as Louis.
He loved every sport, but, his favorite was baseball, with the New York Yankees being his favorite team. In 2019, Lou was finally able to see the Yankees play in New York with his grandsons. He loved music, which was his favorite pass-time. He attended countless concerts. He also liked to fish and enjoy his guilty pleasure of Pork Rinds.
Surviving are his beautiful twin daughters and their husbands, Shonda and Stephen Pfleuger, of Coldbrook and Rikki and Ralph Walker, of Frankfort; five precious grandchildren, Brittany Pfleuger, Mariah and Alex Amador, Stephen Pfleuger, Jr., Ralph K. Walker, IV and his fiancée, Rebecca, and Brandon Walker; two great grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Colton and Carter Amador; one sister, Robin Turchetti; two brothers, Joseph Turchetti and Anthony and Luanne Turchetti. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Jennifer Jewett, Mary Pelli-Maggio and her husband, Santo, Jody and Robert Martucci, and Theresa Taylor.
In keeping with Louis and Tammy’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend their Mass of Resurrection, which will be held on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2020 at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, 648 Jay Street, Utica. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
