Mrs. Ann J. (Brindisi) Caruso, age 65, of Utica, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her family at her side.
She was born in Utica on June 24, 1953, a daughter of the late Pasquale F. and Rose M. (Sisti) Brindisi. Ann treated all of her nieces and nephews and their children as though they were her own. Her charismatic personality, fun-loving nature, and love for life attracted people to her. Along with her family, she enjoyed many fun summers at Sylvan Beach at her nephew’s home.
Mrs. Caruso was raised and educated in Utica, where she graduated from T. R. Proctor High School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC). On February 5, 1995 in Whitestown, she married Thomas J. “Tommy” Caruso, Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Tommy; a sister, Sandra Grounds and her fiancée, Charles Dapice, and a brother, Pasquale Brindisi, Jr., all of Utica; a sister-in-law, Diane Brindisi, of Whitesboro. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Brindisi and a brother, Thomas Brindisi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday afternoon from 1-3 at Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica (at the Matt Funeral Home).
Ann’s family wishes to thank the Oneida Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing facilities, third floor nurses and staff for the care and compassion that they displayed during her stay with them.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this very difficult time. I cannot begin to imagine what you must be going through. May you find some comfort in the promises of our dear heavenly father, Jehovah, recorded at John 5 vs 28, 29 and Revelation 21 vs 3, 4. Also, if I may, I would very much like to share an article I recently saw that offers hope and comfort during times of deep distress. It is titled "Comfort for Those Who Grieve", and can be found in the Awake! No.3 2018 available for viewing at Please feel free to visit at a time convenient for you. Once again, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I would like to send my condolences to the Brindisi family. Annie and I shared a friendship which began in the mid 80s. We laughed and we cried as we traveled a path that caused great pain for ourselves, but mostly our families. However, because of that pain I became a strong and determined survivor. Annie unknowingly taught me how to love by showing me what love was not. I never got the chance to say this to Annie, so I will say it now. "I forgive you Annie." I will always love you. Rest in Peace
