Obituary for Ronald D. Cole
Mr. Ronald David Cole, Sr. age 69, of Rome, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
He was born in Suffern, NY, on March 5, 1949. Ron was predeceased by a daughter, Tania Lyn Cole; his mother, Joan Wareheime; his father, Irving Cole; and his beloved dog Cal “The Puppy”.
He will lovingly be remembered by a daughter, Kelli Lyn Cole; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D., Jr. and Kimberly Cole; two grandchildren, Emily Cole and Carlie Cole; a godson, Lee DeSeve; his former wife, Terri Cole and many valued friends and family members.
He graduated from Oriskany Central High School in 1967.
Ronald had been employed by Rome Cable Corporation for over 25 years. Later in life you may have spotted him at a fair or two popping kettle corn. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and traveling to the west cost of Florida for the winters. He especially enjoyed having coffee with his friends at Dippin Donuts on a regular basis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 8:00 a.m., to 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440. Ron’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00 A.M. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Interment will take place in Holland Patent Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of floral offerings please consider memorial contributions in Ron’s memory to the American Heart Association.
