Mrs. Kelly A. (Kirkpatrick) Sanford, age 51, of Rome, NY, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care in New Hartford, NY.
She was born in Saugerties, NY, on May 2, 1967, a daughter of the late William V. and Patricia (Kirkpatrick) McCormick. Kelly was raised and educated in Rome schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy (RFA). On July 19, 2006, in Rome, NY she married Thomas V. Sanford. The couple shared a union of 12 years, filled with love and a strong devotion for each other.
Kelly had a great love for her family and friends, she especially adored her dogs, Molly and Daisy.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Tom, of Rome, NY; two step-daughters, Michelle Emig and her companion, Carrie Emig of Vernon, NY, and Ashley Sanford of Durhamville, NY; eight grandchildren, especially acknowledging, Novalee Smith, and Akira Smith both of Durhamville; aunts and uncles, Thomas and Darlene Kirkpatrick of Clinton, NY, and Jane E. Todd of Hamilton, NY. Also surviving are two special cousins, Beth and Pam, with whom she shared a special relationship with.
In keeping with Kelly’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., 700 Rutger Street, Utica, NY 13501 (at the Matt Funeral Home).
